i see your ghost

I am so excited to release this shoot—my second project of 2013 and my second time working with a Makeup Artist.

Rachel contacted me in the beginning of January to see about organizing a test shoot. We emailed back and forth up until our shoot in February. I knew immediately that I was going to love working with her. Nik had approached me in the Fall expressing her interest in working together. After a few failed attempts, we finally got the chance. We met a few days before for coffee at "Habit" to discuss the shoot and I had the most amazing London Fog.

I understand that these are our careers—modelling, makeup, photography—and that calls for a level of professionalism, but I find that professionalism can turn stiff and unemotional. Connection is so important to me. Not only does it make the shoot flow better, but it is far more enjoyable to collaborate with individuals who are openly passionate about what they do and have fun doing it. I want to do more than just network—I want to form relationships.

These two women are so spectacular and I had such an amazing time working with them. They are both such kind, sincere, and talented individuals. I loved listening to their experiences in the industry (and getting to play with all of Rachel’s amazing clothes!).
